The Fleur de Lune community garden is welcoming an infusion of donated plants from a local gardener. This week, our volunteer gardeners "re-homed" dozens of hellebores from the landscape of a garden supporter. The mature hellebores - often called "Lenten rose" because of their very early spring blooms - create eye-catching spring blossoms while tulips and daffodils are still pushing through the soil. Members of the Moon Township Garden Club dropped off the last of the school supply donations this week. The club philanthropic efforts this year included supporting Guardian Storage’s “The Education Partnership” which provides school supplies to local under-funded schools. Restore 22 Concept Image On August 20th, Irene Prendergast, Sharon Fedorek and Christy Klug of the Moon Township Garden Club Philanthropy Committee presented Restore 22 with a donation. They met with their treasurer, Christine Ree, who provided them with a background on their endeavor and the status of their project. Christine’s husband Rob served for 35 years in the military. Immersed in nature in the Fleur de Lune garden with story time and pollinators On July 29th the Moon Township Garden Club (MTGC) presented a program in conjunction with the Moon Township Public Library in the Fleur de Lune garden at Robin Hill Park.
